We are exploring the possibility of being a site for blood donation through the American Red Cross. One of their representatives met with Tammie and me on Sunday after worship. (She was in worship with us Sunday) We have to meet certain criteria in regards to our facility which I don’t believe will be an issue. What we need to provide as a congregation is a commitment of donors. We would like to have at least 20 from our GF family who will commit to be a blood donor. The obvious questions are what day of the week, hours etc… I don’t have an immediate answer to those questions. We need to know if we have enough people who can and are willing to make a blood donation. I will have a sign up sheet at church on Sunday and will go in more detail then.
The second outreach is through the First Presbyterian Church and Heart and Hand. They are looking for at least 3 people who would be willing to pick up furniture donations for Heart and Hand. They will begin this process at the end of May through the end of August. The truck is provided. Likely to be every other Saturday from 8 A.M. until 2 P.M. We can commit to one or more Saturdays in the aforementioned time frame. Please contact me or see me Sunday for more info.
