Being of one mind

by Rev. Rick Pursley

LEARN HIM=LOVE HIM-LIVE HIM
“Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.” 2 Corinthians 13:11

We are a nation that is divided in every sense of the word.  There is no middle ground. There is no desire to compromise. There is no desire to get along. It is not a matter of what is right or what is wrong.  It is simply a matter of them and us.

Certain things there can be no compromise.  There is no compromise the Word of God.  In fact we are warned not to add or take away from anything in God’s Word.  What God called sin then, is still sin today.  What God said is good then, is still good today.

The inability to “be of one mind” has crept into not only our government, but into our homes and churches.  Just like our government, we see homes divided and sadly some churches fall into that category as well.

If all of these (our government, our homes, our churches) will use the Word of God as their moral compass and agree that God is always right, He is always merciful and always wants the best for His children, then perhaps we again would be a nation united, a home that is full of grace and churches that share a message of hope.
