Begin your day with prayer

by Rev. Rick Pursley

“In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.” Psalm 5:3

During these cold days of winter, some may be forced to stay in their homes alone. If you are a child of God, you are never truly alone. The presence of God is with you.

Satan will use our loneliness against us. He will fill our minds with doubt and our hearts with despair as we are tempted on dwelling on our problems and the problems of our loved ones. Instead of allowing Satan to dominate our thoughts, take some time and talk to God. He loves to hear from His children.

Have you ever waited expectedly for that phone call or text from a loved one that never came? Likely you felt disappointed and forgotten. Our Heavenly Father feels like that as well when we forget to talk to Him. Begin your day talking to the Father. If you are having a good day, thank Him. If you are overwhelmed, turn those burdens over to Him. If you are lonely, tell Him.  If you are scared, ask Him for courage.

He knows us better than we know ourselves. So talk to Him. He wants to hear from you.
