Be in prayer for our VBS

by Rev. Rick Pursley

LEARN HIM-LOVE HIM-LIVE HIM

“Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he’s is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

First of all, I want to thank you church family for the calls, text, messages and cards we have received from you as Tammie and I are home recuperating from Covid.  We miss you all and are anxious to be back in worship and fellowship with you.  A special thanks to Pastor Anthony and Pastor Jerry for being willing to share God’s Word with you during my absence.  Both messages were spot on and I hope that they spoke to your heart like they spoke to mine.

August 8th, we begin our Vacation Bible School.  I challenge you to be in prayer for our leaders, teachers volunteers, parents, grandparents and specifically our children.

Satan has and will throw every obstacle in our paths that he can.  We must remain steadfast in our prayers and our commitment to teach, love and protect our children with everything in our being.  From doing pulpit supply for several months before God led me to be your interim, I have witnessed a lot of congregations without children in their midst.  God has blessed us with so many resources to minister to our children:

1. Godly parents and grandparents who lead by example and know the importance of a relationship with Jesus Christ.
2. Teachers who devote so much of their time to teach our children
3. A facility that is child welcoming
4. A leadership team who understands the importance of children/youth ministry
5: Most importantly, He has blessed us with children.

If you can serve, serve.  If you can contribute supplies, then do that.  But most importantly pray earnestly and sincerely that our VBS is a success and that lives our changed.

We are looking forward to seeing you all very soon! God bless you GF Family!
