My family and I just returned from a week at the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  I was in my 20s the first time I saw the ocean.  I have never lost being awestruck at the massiveness of it all.  Standing on the beach and watching the waves and seeing the ocean stretch as far as the eye can see with the realization that it goes on and on beyond what I can see.

Tammie were able to get to the beach early enough to watch the sunrise over the ocean.  The beauty of it is indescribable.  What I have noticed that there will be different people sitting in various parts of the beach, not really talking, but just sitting and taking in the beauty of it all. People from different backgrounds, from different locations, with different beliefs.  Yet all of us taking a few minutes and marveling at God’s handiwork.

Whether I am watching a sunrise at the beach, or from a deer stand in WV, I am reminded just how awesome and how powerful our God truly is.  He created the universe.  He placed this bright light we call the sun into the sky as He created the rest of the world.  No human has that kind of power.  There is not a thing that occurs on this earth that God is not aware is happening.

If God can create the universe by simply speaking it into existence, we should be comforted by the fact that there is no battle that we face that is bigger than He is or that He can’t handle.

Today times are hard and uncertain.  What we can be certain of is that God is still on the throne and still in control. This same God that created the heavens and the earth is still very much alive and is still in control. 

Take a minute out of your hectic schedule and marvel at God’s handiwork. It will reassure you that there is someone out there that is bigger than anything this world will throw at you.
