The importance of faith

by Rev. Rick Pursley

LEARN HIM-LOVE HIM-LIVE HIM
“In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.” 1 John 5:3-4

The world around us seems to be a place where we hear far more bad news than good. A war in Ukraine, a pandemic that won’t end, a economy that has went crazy with the price of everything increasing but salaries are not. A drug epidemic, violence is on the rise.  Then there are those personal battles we face; the loss of a loved one, a bad report from our doctor, loneliness, depression, the list goes on and on.

The world is changing around us.  But the one thing that will never change is the love that our God has for us.  He has always been and always will be on the throne and will always be in control.  Nothing goes unnoticed by God.  He is aware of everything in His creation and what struggles that we face.

If you are a child of God, even when the world seems like it is crashing down around us, we have something that others don’t.  We have hope. Hope in the promise that God has promised never to leave us or forsake us. Because of that promise, our faith in our God gets us through another day.

We will overcome those inevitable battles of life because of the faith we have in our God.
