LEARN HIM-LOVE HIM-LIVE HIM
“Therefore let us stop passing judgement on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.” Romans 14:13
As we look at the world around us today, it can be a frightening and disheartening place. We see the war in Ukraine that continues to take countless innocent lives everyday. The price of everything is going up and our wages are not. Our government is divided and we the people have lost our confidence in their ability to lead. We still have Covid and we still have a addiction crisis that plagues our nation.
Yet we as Christians have hope that comes from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our jobs as Christians is to focus our energy in sharing that hope with others by our witness.
Because we are so frustrated at the downhill spiral of our nation, it is easy for us to get sucked into the finger pointing and criticism of everyone and everything around us. Sometimes those criticisms can be mean spirited and not very Christlike. In turn, our witness becomes less convincing to those outside looking in. We can give Christianity a black eye if we aren’t very careful.
We should have opinions and it is fine to express them. We should care about the world around us. Let’s be mindful though of how we express ourselves. Our opinions do count, but they also can influence others view of Jesus and the church.
