Pastor Mark Jarrell grew up in North Charleston and is a life-long resident of the Kanawha Valley. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord at the age of 18 as a senior at Dunbar High School. He graduated from DHS in 1975 and continued his education at West Virginia State College graduating in 1979 with a B. S. in education.
After many years in the secular work world he answered the call into full-time ministry and was a youth pastor for 11 years before being asked to plant a church for the West Virginia Baptist Convention. He completed his Masters of Divinity degree from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, graduating in 2003.
Mark and his wife, Cindy, were married in 1977. Their family includes their daughter, and two grandsons, Erin, Cole and Connor Jackson; and their son, and granddaughter, Scott, and Emily Jarrell.
